Wine & Chocolate Flavor Profile
White Chocolate
This pure cocoa butter confection pairs best with light aromatic wines such as: Vermentino, Chardonnay, Rosé. Being such a neutral base, it allows the wine’s citrus and minerality notes to shine.
Milk Chocolate
Made from half chocolate and half cream, milk chocolate is one of the easiest to pair with a variety of wines. The extra fat helps coat the mouth making for a fun push-pull with the wine. Pairs best with medium-bodied reds such as: Pinot Noir, Dolcetto, Romanza.
Dark Chocolate
The components of dark chocolate mirror the compounds found in wine. The key is to balance the bitterness of dark chocolate so that the wine can shine. Pairs best with full-bodied reds such as: Barbera, Petite Sirah, Merlot.
